Yet another part of the computer arsenal: Desktop programming.

I've been coding desktop programs for the Windows environment almost as long as I've been designing websites (roughly 10 years). While many of the applications I've developed were coded strictly for personal use, I've also coded numerous desktop projects for others. Here are a few.

1. Hellhound Radio/Michal Brodka's News Updaters

After the design and launch of Hellhound Radio, a dilemma arose: "How can we provide news updates to the site on a regular basis?" Eventually, the decision was made to stray away from using a web-based blog service to provide updates, and the idea of creating a desktop application to post news to the site directly from a Windows PC was put into action.

The total amount of time to create and deploy the application was approximately two days. The HHR News Updater program features an organized, extremely user-friendly GUI that guides you through each step of the news-posting process. Even if someone is using the program for the first time, they will know exactly what to do in order to have their news read by internet radio listeners from all across the globe. The program is also password-protected, so anyone that shouldn't be using the program will certainly not be able to.

2. Hellhound Radio Soundboard

In order to spruce up the broadcasts on HHR a little bit, the idea of a soundboard application came to mind. Since this program was made entirely with the DJs' ease of use in mind, you will not find any potentially-distracting visuals embedded in this application; just a large button-filled interface used to locate specific sounds in a split second's time.

All of the sounds on the soundboard are removable and replaceable, and the process of adding a new sound to the soundboard is as simple as right-clicking a button.
